During the period of Lent in 2023 we announced 14 very special individuals, duos or groups as the Official Ambassadors of the Just 14 Movie project. Each of the 14 were asked a couple of days before being announced. They are a very special group of people, who have all played a major role in this movie project.
This amazing young lad, 'Carts', is known amongst Villans (Aston Villa fans) for being the brave young supporter with the club's crest on his prosthetic leg.
There's not many Aston Villa fans who can say they have had their leg signed by Paul McGrath and Jack Grealish - but Carter Carrington can make that boast.
This incredible karate gold medal winning lad stole the limelight in the opening scene of the 'Just 14' promotional trailer.
Marie and her son, Connor Sherry (who captains the Aston Villa 'Ability Counts' team) have been right behind the project since it started. Appearing on the trailer, being part of Midlands Today news piece, creating their very own 'Just 14' brand of clothing and most recently getting 'Just 14' as a sponsor on the AFC Bromsgove shirt this season.
What can we say about this leading far-travelled business man? Mike, the man who gave Villa Park the iconic 'SOB ON THE TYNE' banner.
The teenage boy who in 1982 went off to Rotterdam without telling his mum. A great supporter of the Just 14 project.
Our Villa fan in Singapore. Jason is fanatical about in think Villa related. He travelled thousands of miles just to meet a former Villa manager once. No, it's not John Gregory, but watch this YouTube video to find out who the manager was. Jason is telling everyone in Singapore about the upcoming Just 14 film.
On Jason's last visit to UK in February 2023 he met so many great Villa players, managers, Just 14 crew and I'm got to lift the FA Cup.
Nicknamed 'Pedro' by Brian Little, Peter White is a colourful character and a true gentleman. Peter was chief writer of the Birmingham-based Saturday evening football paper, the Sports Argus during Villa's glory years. After a spell on national papers, he went freelance, and after moving to the Isle of Wight, he reported on Southampton, Portsmouth and Bournemouth football clubs for many years, as a freelance for the Sunday Mirror and Daily Express.
He recently released his book 'I'm Glad I did'. The prime aim of the book to raise money for local units who deal directly with breast cancer at St Mary’s Hospital, Newport. Where sadly, Peter's wife Trish, died in 2011, aged just 53.
Claire 'youngatheart' Donnelly is an inspirational lady. Mother to Alfie a little boy who has had four major heart operations. Claire, like Alfie, always has a smile on her face despite all the challenges that life throws up. Claire is Chair of the Board of Trustees for the charity 'Young at Heart', Supporting the families under the care of Birmingham Children's Hospital Cardiac unit.
We will make sure that there is a role, as an extra, in the full version of Just 14 for Alfie and his amazing mother.
The owner and senior Podiatrist, Rachael Dale, might be Just 14's book writer's wife, but all five lovely ladies of Village Podiatrists practice have played their part in promoting the Just 14 project. Diane, Catherine, Rachael, Kate and Heidi look after feet in the Wombourne, Wolverhampton and Dudley area and beyond! Awarded one of the top three Podiatry practices in Wolverhampton for last 5 years. Check out their amazing reviews.
It's not just about the Villa. It's about West Midland football and growing up in the 80's. So delighted that Wolves fan Darren is one of our ambassadors. Darren has so many great Wolves stories. 1980 was a special year for the Wolves, they won the League Cup. Mr Wootton got to keep the cup in his bedroom the night before it was being displayed at his school fete.
One of our international ambassadors. Kevin is a truly inspirational man from Banjul, Gambia. His amazing Aston Villa allegiance has been recognised on national TV, in the Villa programme and in the press. A whole village of Villa fans in Gambia have sprang up due to the passion of this gentleman.
Right back in every game of the 1980/81 season for Aston Villa. Kenny has a cameo in the Just 14 promotional trailer and has been a massive supporter of the project. He's even discussed it at Premier League level.
Kenny surprised us all at Just 14 evening at Lock, Stock and Barrel in July 2023 when he sang a Country and Western song.
'Harps' is already a story to many of us with her videos of her footballing skills. A close link for the film to the very successful Aston Villa's Ladies team. Harper has been spotted on TV and with her mother Lou is a big supporter of Just 14 the Movie.
They live far from Villa Park in beautiful coastal Cornwall, but there love of all things Villa is immense. This Cornwall Lions flag and be spotted at many Villa events. Dave Wickes and the Cornwall Lions hosted a brilliant Just 14 event for us in November 2022. Remember jam goes on first.
A comedy double act who have done so much to promote the project. Radio interviews, event compering, James Bond singing and even appeared in trailer as Jonathan's bewildered parents.
Alan, the Subbuteo legend, has built an amazing scaled replica of Villa Park. Creator of 'My Subbuteo Collection and Stories - Subbuteo Passion' group. He has raised thousands with his fantastic 'Buy a seat to buy a Defib' fundraising.
